Longevity gene and telomerase enzyme
By admin | February 18, 2010
Several studies so far have proved that Alzheimer’s disease is the illness of old age. This means that prevention or slowing down the aging process may prevent the development of this illness. They call it a ‘longevity gene’. It is not only about prolonging human life span but as well about stopping body’s cognitive decline. This gene was detected a few years ago and is considered to be a cholesterol ester transfer protein gene version. This gene is said to regulate the good and bad levels of cholesterol in blood, thus preventing heart disorders and fostering longer life expectancy. Unfortunately, scientists still did not manage to discover its link to the aging processes in our organisms. They had discovered however that the enzyme called telomerase enzyme has proven to slow down and even stop aging and there are companies that developed supplements that hep raise telomerase enzyme in the system. Two of them are Reneuve telomerase enzyme and TA-65.
