Son Lost His Gloves

How serious can my son be about a sport that he loses the equipment to? He had us buy all this equipment for his boxing classes and then announces this morning that he’s lost his boxing gloves. He wants to know if I’ll buy him a new pair. I don’t think so! We spent so much money getting him started and even paid for his classes. He can do some work or whatever it takes to buy him some new ones. I’m not forking out the money this time. My husband thinks I’m being too harsh, but I don’t see him forking over the money either.
